Dr. Ryan Kass
Dr. Kass joined Animal Medical Center of Cumming in the summer of 2023 and became the Medical Director following Dr. Mike McLaughlin’s retirement in March 2025. With a strong dedication to high-quality, compassionate veterinary care, he is committed to continuing the clinic’s long-standing tradition of treating every pet like their own.
Originally from the Midwest, Dr. Kass earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa. He went on to complete his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University, where he developed a particular interest in clinical medicine and surgical procedures. After graduation, he spent three years practicing mixed animal medicine in South Dakota, gaining extensive experience in both general practice, and urgent care before moving to Georgia to be closer to his family. Dr. Kass’ professional passions include surgery, preventive medicine, and managing urgent or medical cases.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Kass enjoys staying active through hiking, running, and disc golf. A devoted Iowa Hawkeye and Iowa State Cyclone football fan, he rarely misses a game. At home, he shares life with his energetic dog, Phoenix, who constantly keeps him on his toes.
